Advantages of fire-resistant cables

The proportion of fire accidents caused by aging wires and short circuits has been increasing year by year. While public awareness of fire prevention is on the rise, people are also gradually recognizing the importance of electrical wires. However, when it comes to today’s wire market, homogeneous wire products dominate half of the market, and wires that boast high safety and excellent functionality are exceedingly rare. When purchasing wire products, consumers are often misled by the uneven quality of products available on the market, leading them to opt for wires that are expensive yet of poor quality. So now, let’s take a closer look at the advantages of fire-resistant cables.

  Advantages of fire-resistant cables

  1. High-strength and flexible performance: Utilizes Class 2 or Class 5 stranded conductors and composite protective materials, with a bending radius smaller than that of conventional cables of the same type (less than 10D).

  2. Reliable fire resistance performance: The fire resistance testing not only meets the requirements of GB/T19216 and IEC60331, but also complies with the Class A, Class B, and Class C requirements specified in the British BS6387 standard. Additionally, the product can withstand water spray during combustion (Class W) and resist mechanical impacts (Classes X, Y, and Z).

  3. Eco-friendly and green product: Made from halogen-free and alkali-free materials, this product does not release large amounts of smoke or toxic gases when exposed to flame. It has a low light transmittance of 80% and a smoke toxicity level of 12.4 mg/L. A green product!

  4. Combined functions: The product integrates fire resistance, corrosion resistance, radiation resistance, high strength, shielding, excellent flexibility, and impact resistance in one.

  5. No splices—easy installation and laying: Cables can be supplied in any length according to customer requirements, with no splices—delivered as a single, continuous cable. Installation and wiring are the same as those for conventional cables, requiring no special accessories or tools.

Fire-resistant cables are characterized by having at least one layer of fire-resistant mica tape wrapped around the conductor core. Outside the fire-resistant mica tape layer, there is a high-temperature-resistant, flame-retardant insulation shielding layer made from high-temperature radiation-crosslinked material. The insulation shielding layer is made from halogen-free materials.

In summary, fire-resistant cables boast high fire-retardant and flame-retardant ratings, offering enhanced safety, energy efficiency, and a long service life. Ordinary PVC cables consist solely of standard PVC and conductors, with no fire-resistant mica tape layer wrapped around the conductor core. Moreover, conventional PVC wires are highly flammable and have low temperature resistance. Once a short circuit or overload occurs, these cables will immediately melt, emit smoke, and catch fire. The reason why Chuangyuan fire-resistant cables outperform ordinary PVC cables lies in their patented fire-wall technology, which enables them to withstand temperatures as high as 1,000°C and maintain continuous combustion for 90 minutes even after power failure, delivering excellent fire performance and an extended service life.
