Haiyan County’s First Provincial-Level Doctoral Innovation Station—Qinshan Cable Doctoral Innovation Station

In 2021, in order to seize the commanding heights of innovative development and address critical technological challenges, the company initiated a collaborative project with Dr. Liu Tifeng, a graduate of Zhejiang University, and his team, jointly establishing the Qinshan Cable Doctoral Innovation Station. In 2022, the station was officially designated as the Jiaxing City Doctoral Innovation Station, and in 2023, it was further designated as the Zhejiang Province Doctoral Innovation Station, becoming the first provincial-level doctoral innovation station in Haiyan County.

Since its establishment, the company has achieved numerous breakthroughs in scientific and technological innovation, obtaining 18 authorized utility model patents and 2 authorized invention patents. It has also passed provincial-level acceptance for two new products and had one project approved as a key technology攻关 project by Haiyan County. Additionally, the company was awarded third prize in the Haiyan County Invention Patent Industrialization Project. In particular, through two collaborative projects—focused on “mold-resistant materials for nuclear power cable jackets” and “durability of wires and cables under extreme environmental conditions”—the company has made groundbreaking improvements to the formulations of wire and cable jacket and insulation materials, driving the research, development, and pilot production of new products and facilitating the company’s transformation and upgrading. In 2022, the company successfully obtained recognition as a High-Tech Enterprise and was awarded the title of Provincial Specialized, Refined, and New Small and Medium-sized Enterprise.

The establishment of the Doctoral Innovation Station has strengthened technical exchanges and collaboration between doctoral experts and the company’s team. Relying on the expertise and information resources of Dr. Liu’s team, the station provides scientifically sound and effective guidance for the company in selecting technological innovation paths and formulating long-term development strategies. The company’s technology R&D team has grown from its original 20 members to over 30 today, including two individuals holding senior professional titles. Currently, training and certification programs for highly skilled personnel are underway, and the talent team is demonstrating “stepwise” growth.

The Doctoral Innovation Station serves as a bridge for “attracting talent and technology,” connecting doctoral researchers with companies. Through this platform, doctoral researchers can undertake practical projects at enterprises, while enterprises, in turn, gain access to high-level talent and advanced technologies.
